Kevin Faraday v. Sean "Diddy" Combs, MTV, Live Nation, and approximately a dozen other individuals and companies
Faraday alleges he was injured at a taping of MTV's "Making the Band" (a reality show produced by/starring Combs) at the Hammerstein Ballroom in 2008 -- someone rushed the stage, grabbed a microphone, and struck him in the abdomen with it. He sued Combs, MTV, Live Nation (the venue operator), and roughly a dozen other individuals/companies (crowd security among them, per the illegible default-judgment order). Live Nation's defense argued that if Faraday was struck, responsibility lay with Combs and MTV for failing to prevent the incident, not with the venue. Settled 10/17/2013. Not sexual-assault-related -- a crowd-control/premises-negligence claim, distinct in mechanism from the Combs-bodyguard-assault pattern (Grieson, Jackson/Guest, Owusu, Waldon) but similar in kind (a physical-injury tort at a Combs-affiliated event).
